Dum Di Da Di Da

This weekend was relaxing to say the least. On Friday the little one and G retired to bed at 9.15pm and I was left to do our taxes, a bit of cleaning up and browsing. On Saturday we finally got to do our Brunch-Potluck, six of us (the rest dropped out not knowing what they missed out on) and it was awesome. Myself and M had been planning it for the longest time and we finally got to do it. Yummy pancakes, brilliant egg omlettes and tasty french toast with some Hot Starbucks Coffee. We were filled to our nostrils and all of us eased into a sloth pace. And the rest of the day was spent in relative peace knowing that there was boatloads of food in out tummy's. Again Sunday was chilled out. A friend visited me and we visited a friend late in the evening and the day ended at 11.00pm after watching Nadal starting to trash Gonzalez...We DVR-ed it but then my friend Nanda spoilt all the surprise for me with his status on facebook. Well I used to do that to everyone during my pre-DVR days and days when I would stay up to watch the entire game. I get a taste of my own medicine...

And then I decided that I had a list of complaints. Complaints that I wish to write down here so that I don't have to explain myself all the time...

1) Please share with me new stories about your baby but also be prepared to listen to stories about mine. I have some fun one's to share and if you are not interested then we can talk about the weather. Rude cutting off and interjections hurt me.

2) I hate to compare my child with yours and can you do that too please? If it is a generic comparison that is fine, but none of the evil-eye casting ones. I hate them...

example: Ooh...your child eats so much food, or, How come she speaks so much, I wish mine did too...

3) Please refrain from commenting on the quantity of food my child is eating if you happen to be around her feeding time.

4) Comment on my blog if you are reading this...negativity will be tolerated but will not go unanswered.

5) I will go GREEN at my own pace. I don't need people telling me about it all the time. I will change slowly. I cannot do things overnight. I had a whole post written on this but then decided against posting it now as it might come out as being rude. But I am generally against people shoving their ideology into my face. I might do that too...and you are most welcome to tell me not to. The problem with me is that I don't know how to say that diplomatically all the time.

6) Live and Let Live.

7) Oh! Oh! Another one, do not tell me things that will make me feel guilty. For example, don't tell me how guilty you feel about not spending time with your child especially when you are a stay-at-home MOM! Guess how that would make me feel, I work and spend only 3 hours with my daughter on weekdays on an average. Thanks!

There is more but I am going to save them for later. Till next time ta ta!

Also, you must feed her ghee.
And how can i forgot, start teaching her ABCD, this is a competitive world, one must start early.

lol.....Do these people exist???? I have heard thsoe creepy moms go "My Son does this, but my sister in law"s kid cant...I am like, people please!!!! Shut up!!!!

I think, i am going to be in for some major "Advice hearing", once i deliver...But i have already started being rude to those moms who have commented on my Tummy, My Size, My Skin and last but not least, what baby i am going to have....They ask me what i wish for and then say just the opposite...Out of Spite???? Hullo!!!!
I am with you on all those points Anu!!!!

Shar you will get tonnes of advice...i might also give you some...take it with a chill pill and blog about it...be angry in the blog...

most of them mean well you know...i get so worked up and my husband will always be wondering what is eating me!!! hehehe...

But remember to vent or your reaction to that person will change.

when are you due? Let me know ok when you have the baby :)

that's it???

how about..sometimes..lets not just talk about kids..specially when there are ppl around with no kids...

and even if they do/dont.. find out if they want to hear about the latest antics of "XYZ"'s kid(s)

how about..if you ask me a question..pay attention to the answer and don't ask me the same question every time you meet me if you really don't care enough to remember.

these are just some more of the gripesI have with the world around me right now.. :)

tc anu !

uh oh Kavita, i am a regular offender of talking about my kids to my friends most of whom have no kids!!! Dang it, I should stop it I guess!!!

And the list goes on...

Kavita said...

lol.. I'm not talking about friends.. whom else will you brag about your kids if not to them..I am talking about these women ( i know from some place) who think that when they meet you there is one and only one topic. Whether you know their kids or not does not matter to them...

any way nice post..i keep coming back to read your blog and i think you have an amazing way of putting your thoughts down...

Anu Russell said...

hehehe Kavita Got your point. :) And I agree...

Thanks K and keep coming back :)

Anu, I really appreciate suggestions and tips...yes, deftly would welcome it from you and other Hot mamas :) :)....Its just teh comparing kids, i HATE!! I have to tell you what happened yesterday...so i went for my Ultra sound (19 weeks) and found out, its a Boy...Yay! right...Not really for some....One very mean Friend (Not one anymore!!) calls me and asked, so what are u having, did you find out?? I say, its a Boy (smiling!!), she goes, "Oh Sorry....Looks like You are not lucky afterall...Only evry few lucky women have Girls, like me..." WTF Man?????
She just made it easier for me to score her off my list!!!!!

Anu Russell said...

yay! It is a Boy!!! When is your due date?

You are kidding right???!!! Whoever this friend is! Man!

How does it matter the gender the baby as long as the baby is hale and healthy! I wonder why some ppl don't change...

Anu Russell said...

Sum,

Thanks :)

Tips are ok but sometimes it is the way they deliver it that makes things annoying...you know what i mean!

Chitra said...

Exactly...Once i saw my baby, all i worried about was his health and if he has all his organs in place....
Who is she in teh first place to decide my baby's gender for me....
Thanks for leveling me with here!!!

and yes its a Boy and he will be arriving on June 27th, if not earlier....
