Ok...Here is what I think...

I spent $120 on maternity/baby classes for which I dragged my poor husband along. I of course realized that of all the 14 hours I spent I must have retained a total of 2 hours of which I have used only 1 hour of classes. The rest were either useless or easily forgettable. Of course I have reffered to the notes that I made in class which only reiterated what I read on websites like www.babycenter.com.

Anyhoo the point now is...while I was taking my maternity/baby classes I think my baby was taking her "living in the outside" classes too...because she does everything against what I learnt in those classes...

Example:
My Class: Let the baby cry for 15 mins...they will definitely calm down...
Baby's class: If they don't come when you cry...cry longer and harder and eventually they are going to come.

My Class: Don't make carrying a baby and walking a habit while the baby is cranky.
Baby's Class: If she does not carry you then don't stop crying.

My Class: Feed babies every two hours.
Baby's Class: Feed every hour...if they don't feed then cry...

My Class: Babies should learn to sleep on their own in their crib.
Baby's Class: If they let you sleep alone cry till they let you cuddle with them.

And in spite of all this...babies are so much fun!!! Absolutely love my darling...

Nice realtime comments abt the do's with lil ones. I remember attending all the classes - taking down notes sinceriely and dint quite remember/follow most of it. The best part was dad(Neela) thot he did a lot better than me from the classes (without notes) - These are the one of the best times of our lives I guess:)

I know...I also took those classes but did not use even one bit for the real stuff...My husband knew most of it even before we attended the classes and he was soooo bored because i had dragged him to those boring classes...

The best part was signing up Neela for Daddy's boot camp....he whined & went over but seemed he enjoyed it cos the pro dads got their lil ones.....Those were fun days too:) The thrill of waiting for the lil one and now that she is here I cant seem to take my eyes of her!! Sure u feel the same way too - every mom does:) Now I realize what my mom went thro when she sent me over for my MS:(
